This one is a real music nerd’s homo crush. Stanier’s a DRUMMER. From veteran post-hardcore band HELMET. Still not hard? Well, not only did he give us post’s most fluid-yet-tight rhythms, but he’s provided the breakbeat backbone for Pitchshifter’s Deviant album and driven along the noodley experimentals of both Battles and Tomahawk (also featuring Gay For… icon Mike Patton). Plus, he has great taste in shirts.
